I know what you mean but without Stalin's ruthlessness Russia wouldn't be free of the Western cabal as they are now as he kept increasing industrial capacity, hugely inefficient capacity, up until his death and Kruschev wouldn't have had the means to expand Russia's influence in Africa and we wouldn't be where we are today. An inefficient industry is also very much easier to make efficient than it is to create industry in the first place as the West is finding now after de-industrialisation. Russia is not the West, they do not think like us and thank God for that as what a boring world it would be if we were all the same. A softer leader would have been wiped away by the Germans as there wouldn't have been the industry to stop them with and there would be no guys standing at the Russian troops back ready to shoot them if they didn't fight. I have a funny feeling that much as it looks chaotic and evil to us the past has actually been the best it could possibly be, whilst still leaving the door open to us here discussing this actually existing to discuss it, .......... including for those we regard as dead. I'm not a big believer in death or uneccesary suffering and if people can't already see how such a world may indeed be the one we already live in they mustn't be paying attention.
