There used to be a technical term for this form of female association. Let me think....I think it was...it was...

Silly old bags!

Yes, that's it. Silly old bags.

As a woman, I thank you Ben for exposing this very Irish and relevant example of Hubris and Misandry involving Mary Robinson, Mary E Daly (Historian), Na Cailleacha/coven of Irish witches et al. in what you aptly describe as 'what could be one of the most astonishing acts of narcissism in the whole of human history'.

This whole debacle reminds us why Hubris is considered the original and worst of the Seven Deadly Sins. As one of my favourite Irish authors, C. S. Lewis, wrote "Unchastity, anger, greed, drunkenness and all that, are mere fleabites in comparison: it was through Pride [Hubris] that Lucifer became wicked: Pride [Hubris] leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti-God state of mind."

Resist these charlatans and their "Climate Crisis" at all costs. Indeed.

Looking forward to your futures updates on the very soviet style ‘cult of personality’ propaganda piece 'Mrs Robinson'. The mind bogles.

Many thanks Ben. It is a great insight to what is driving this a lot of this nonsense. A lot of mentally unhinged women.

There’s lots I don’t like about this - and they lost me totally with the inclusion of 'trans women' aka 'men'.

But I think the translation of 'witches' can be challenged. The Cailleach literally means 'old woman' or 'great grandmother' and she was part of a creation myth. Linked very much to land and nature I'd consider her a positive mythical figure, not a witch.

And it’s disappointing to see the first response to this is ‘silly old bags'. Should these women be criticised? Yes. Are tired old sexist tropes the best way to do it?

Hi AbiM. Ben is using the translation supplied by the all female 'artist collective' "Na Cailleacha" from their own website: "We are Na Cailleacha, from the Irish word ‘cailleach’ meaning a witch..." https://nacailleacha.weebly.com/about.html this website is referenced in the UK Column News show notes 10 March 2025 https://www.ukcolumn.org/video/uk-column-news-10th-march-2025

Thanks Alisa. I wondered who had translated it. Not surprised they've chosen to ignore the more wholesome origin of the word. Any group of women welcoming men into the fold have no respect for nature. Or Truth.

Mary Robinson always seemed very masculine to me....never liked her 'Tá me as cleachta' crap going for the Irish presidency with no Irish.....a disgrace!!!! And the licked husband in tow....yawn!!!! Again he seemed very feminine.....I was very young when she got in but I was awake then.....awake to lies thanks to my father discussing the illuminati over the kitchen table to us when we were young....remember how Lenehan was taken down.....I do.....someone somewhere wanted that plant(Robinson) in power....who the hell is havin a 'watch party' with that crap ego boostin film!!!.NEVER FORGET SHE F'ED OFF TO BRUSSELS AND LEFT HER PRESIDENCY EARLY FOR A CUSHY LITTLE NUMBER OF A HIGH PAID JOB......NO RESPECT FOR THE OFFICE....

The system only promotes the worst people. If they’ve now decided to push women forwards into power, it will be the worst of women. This should not be a surprise.

Let’s not get bogged down in imagining one sex is fundamentally worse than the other.
